EXPLORE AND CREATE AT HOME

Non-fiction (also known as informational and/or expository) describe a type of writing and representing that are based in fact, truth and reality. An author would use non-fiction when they are describing or explaining an idea, person, place or thing to their audience.

We say writing and other ways of representing because non-fiction can be presented in many ways. Not all of these ways require the author or creator to write. Your child could create non-fiction with the use of a video, a speech, a brochure, a comic strip, a magazine, etc.
